Job Title: Sr.QA Engineer
The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role focuses on both manual and automation testing practices, driving quality across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
This position plays a key role in defining QA strategies, improving testing processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. Additionally, the role includes mentoring QA team members and promoting best practices in testing and defect management.
This position is responsible for leading QA efforts, ensuring robust test coverage, and driving continuous improvement in product quality and testing efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Agile Collaboration:
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with product owners and developers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria
- Ensure proper QA representation and test coverage during sprint planning.
- Act as the primary QA point of contact for cross-functional teams.
Test Planning and Strategy:
- Define and implement test strategies, plans, and approaches for releases.
- Create and review test scenarios and test cases.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage including edge cases and integrations.
- Identify risks and define quality mitigation strategies.
- Manage lead capture, scoring, and nurturing through CRM and marketing automation tools.
- Analyze lead quality, engagement, and conversion metrics to continuously improve targeting and messaging.
Manual Testing:
- Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and UI testing.
- Execute test cases during sprint cycles and provide continuous feedback.
- Conduct smoke and sanity testing post-deployment.
Defect Management :
- Log, track, and manage defects with clear documentation.
- Prioritize defects based on business impact and timelines.
- Validate fixes and ensure proper closure of issues.
- Analyze defect trends to improve overall quality.
Test Automation :
- Identify opportunities for automation in regression testing.
- Collaborate with automation teams to improve test coverage.
- Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Team Leadership & Mentoring:
- Mentor junior QA engineers and support skill development.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and training.
- Review test artifacts and ensure QA best practices are followed.
- Assist in task allocation and performance tracking.
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement :
- Define and enforce QA standards and best practices.
- Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Track QA metrics such as defect density, coverage, and release quality.
Knowledge and Skills required:
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and defect lifecycle.
- Expertise in manual testing (functional, regression, exploratory).
- Experience with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for data validation.
- Good to have: Experience with Selenium WebDriver (C#), API testing (Postman), and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in software testing within Agile environments.
