Purpose: Define the complete description, responsibilities, and requirements for CFD Analyst as it relate to the Engineering Department, Product Definition/Structure, and Core Business Activities of Systel, Inc. Scope: All positions titled CFD Analyst within the Engineering Department of Systel, Inc. Duties and Responsibilities: All work activities shall be conducted in a manner that supports Systel’s Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, System Level Procedures (SLP) and Work Instructions (WI). Engineering/Design/Documentation for packaging of Electro-Mechanical equipment as defined in Systel’s Product Definition. Interface with all relevant departments, including external customers, throughout the Product Development Cycle.
Support Sales/Marketing/Customer in defining product/s by reviewing/determining product requirements through the creation of product specifications and conceptual drawings.
Interface with Manufacturers/Vendors for the selection of purchased components.
Assist other Engineering support personnel such as Drafters, Assemblers,and Technicians during documentation, prototyping, and testing phases. Support Manufacturing personnel during production.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in technology concerning the mechanical/electro-mechanical discipline as well as new technology related to Systel’s product structure.
Comprehend and Execute on all taskst hrough project management.
Meet due dates for all project or customer related tasks and action items.
Getting Information: Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information for engineering and design purposes from all relevant sources.
Design Layout: Perform layout drafting/design and specification of parts. Provide detailed part fabrication drawings, Work Instructions, assembly drawings, proposal drawings, purchased part specifications, part number creation, Source Control Drawings, and Bills of Material.
Attend design reviews and execute on action items.
Computer Interaction: Use computers and computer systems, (Hardware and Software), to design product,document, enter data, analyze, process information, communicate, change/revise, report, and manage tasks.
Prototyping: Build and/or assist with prototypes during the Product Development Cycle. Capture data for documentation and/or changes for the design. Attend prototype reviews and execute on action items.
Inspect equipment, parts, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems/defects.
Testing: Conduct and /or oversee environmental testing of product prototypes in the Engineering Lab.
Product Specification: Assist Sales/Marketing in the creation of Product Specification Documents.
Product Configuration: Assist Sales/Marketing in the creation of Product Quotes.
Product Review: Assist Sales/Marketing by attending Quote Reviews and Contract Reviews.
Changes: Revise/Change designs and documentation through Engineering Change Process.
Quality
Involvement in the Quality Process through the attendance of meetings, training, and auditing.
Comprehension of System Level Procedures and Work Instructions for Engineering processes as well as other departmental processes that may affect Engineering and/or the Product Development Cycle.
Sustaining Engineering: Continuous support for existing product or product lines for issues such as End of Life,Internal/External customer changes or revisions, and new configurations.
Product Support: Assist Sales/Marketing/Reps by visiting with external customers on behalf of Engineering.
Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge: Keep up-to-date technically through hard/electronic publications,seminars, trade shows, Internet, vendors, distributors, manufacturers/reps, organizations, broadcasting, continuous
education, and apply new knowledge to job/projects/products/processes
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Engineering: Practical application of engineering science and technology. Includes applying principles, techniques,procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Participate in finite element modeling and analyze problems in thermal and thermo-fluids domain in high and low temperature range as it relates to integrated computer systems. Suggest solutions to cooling and heating issues before any physical systems are built.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Conduct FEA modeling and analysis in electro-mechanical systems as it relates to static and dynamic loading in integrated computer systems. Provide stress and structural support to design based on given geometry model. Suggest solutions to strain, shock, and vibration issues before any physical systems are built.
Design: Design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, design layout, drawings,and models.
Design reviews for design verification.
Prototyping: Assembly techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing a working model, including testing/evaluation for design verification.
Mathematics: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications in solving design problems.
Physics: Physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding material and mechanical structures and processes.
Mechanics: Machines, tools, and their designs, uses, as related to Engineering Design and Part Fabrication.
Fastening: Screws, Bolts, Washers, Nuts, Rivets, Tie-Wraps, Belts, Straps, Adhesives, Welding, Thread Lockers, Clamps, Anchors, Tie-Downs, Captive, and various other methods.
Systems/Types of Measurement: Both English and SI (Metric) in length, area, volume, mass, time, temperature,electricity, energy, and sound.
Raw Materials: Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and their alloys. Sheet, Plate, Rounds, Bars, Tubing,Pipe, and various structural shapes/extrusions.

Educational Requirements: One or more of the following may apply.
Degree/BSME: Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and 3 years experience related to the packaging of Electro-Mechanical equipment/systems.

CAD/CAE: Computer Aided Drafting/Design/Engineering courses and up-to-date knowledge of current
