About the Job
We are seeking experienced Technical Project Managers (TPM) to join our Engineering department. This role will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of all design projects, from project kickoff through production readiness review. The job entails oversight of both customer Purchase Order (PO) and Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects, leveraging a comprehensive project management toolkit to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This is a highly critical and high-visibility position in the company, directly responsible for ensuring we can consistently and effectively support our customers and their missions, and is highly impactful to scaling the business.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering. This position is full-time onsite (in-person) at our headquarters in Sugar Land, TX. Some travel may be required.

You are a highly motivated and experienced Technical Project Manager who thrives in managing complex design projects within the engineering domain. With a solid background in project management methodologies and a knack for leading cross-functional teams, you are adept at navigating the challenges of both customer-oriented and internal projects. You have a strong technical background and experience working in hardware engineering and manufacturing organizations.

Key Responsibilities
• Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee all phases of project management, including Planning, Design, Procurement, Prototype, and Production Readiness.
• Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary, matrixed project teams, ensuring effective collaboration among team members and timely execution of project tasks.
• Customer & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication regarding project status, milestones, and deliverables.
• WBS-Based Project Planning: Utilize a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)-based project plan/schedule to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
• Tool Proficiency: Leverage the Microsoft 365 suite of applications and project management tools to streamline project execution and documentation.
• Budget & Resource Management: Monitor project budgets and resource allocation, making adjustments as necessary to meet project goals and financial constraints.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success. Be productively paranoid, constantly re-evaluating risks and management/mitigation strategies.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field.
• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or similar role in an engineering or technology environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.
• Experience with resource capacity planning and managing schedules in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools, including WBS-based planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of applications and familiarity with project management software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with industry standards and certifications relevant to rugged computing and military specifications.is desirable.
• PMP certification is desirable.
• US Citizenship required.
